National Insulation Installers Audit Program
This month, Fair Work Inspectors will select a sample of industry employers for a program of compliance audits to be carried out in May 2010.
If you are one of these employers, an inspector will either write to you or phone or visit you, explaining the records or documents you will need to produce. (Please note that the Fair Work Act 2009 empowers Fair Work Inspectors to enter certain business premises, to inspect and to copy time and wages records.)
If you are audited and the Inspector finds you are not complying with an aspect of Commonwealth workplace law, you will be encouraged to voluntarily rectify the matter. If you do not, or if the Inspector uncovers a wilful contravention of the law, further compliance action will be taken to ensure the lawful requirements are met.
