Fair Work Education and Information program

The Fair Work Education and Information program will soon begin, helping to inform employees, employers and small business about the new Workplace Relations System commencing from 1 July 2009.

Under the program, the Australian Government has offered $12.9m in grants funding to selected community, employee, employer and small business organisations to deliver education and information programs across Australia on how the new Fair Work Act 2009 will affect them.

A key focus of this phase of the program is to ensure employers, particularly small businesses, learn about the new system and comply with it, including new aspects such as the Fair Dismissal Code for Small Business.

Information and education services to be provided by the grant recipients will include interactive online material in multiple languages; workshops; and a broad range of information materials.

Details of the scheduled and publicly accessible workshops will be made available at this page shortly.

More information about the Fair Work Education and Information program is available in the program guidelines and  media release
